A Family Tradition

Lake Erie and the Detroit River were my Dad’s backyard, now mine and my children’s.

Growing Up on Lake Erie

My love for the outdoors was passed down from my Dad. From the time I was born, I was on the boat fishing and hunting. My father had a depth of local outdoor knowledge matched by few in our area. His love of the outdoors was shared, not only with me but with everyone he could. I was blessed to be raised in a village where the love of hunting and fishing only matches family tradition. Families for dozens of generations have enjoyed the bounty of what nature has to offer. The joy of sharing these experiences with others has been a driving force in my life. Filling the boat with perch, walleye, and waterfowl is only a tiny part of what I love. Sharing the smiles and knowledge with my family and friends is what keeps us alive. This tradition must continue through future generations.

The Tradition Continues

I hope to share my love and knowledge of the outdoors with my children. Lake Erie and the Detroit River is not only their backyard, but it’s also one of the best places to learn the love of the water. It seems only natural for me to feel the need to share my endless love for nature and to raise future stewards of the outdoors. Caring for our land, water, and animals that we all get to love and enjoy is important for everyone. Bringing children on a hunting or fishing charter on Lake Erie or the Detroit River can be one of the best ways to share and continue this love of the outdoors. We strongly encourage making your charter, with Chief Charters, a family affair. Bring the whole family, and let us spend a day on the water making memories that we can cherish forever.
